Domaine Chauveau Coteaux du Giennois Calcaire

Domaine Chauveau Coteaux du Giennois Calcaire is produced from limestone soils on the bank of the Loire close to its more famous neighbour Sancerre. A fresh and lively Sauvignon with attractive citrus fruit and underlying minerality.

It was in 1995 when Benoit Chauveau took over the vines of his parents and, in 1997, the vines of my grandparents, that the Chauveau estate in the tiny hamlet of St Andelain became exclusively wine-growing. Benoit devotes himself to the cultivation of the vine and to winemaking whilst his wife Emmanuelle manages the administrative and commercial side. 2021 marks the beginning of a new generation at the estate with the arrival of their daughter, Lise, agricultural engineer and oenologist.

Domaine Chauveau produces Sancerre, Pouilly Fume and more recently Coteaux de Giennois. All the wines are very expressive and show excellent typicity of their individual AOP.
