Painted Wolf The Den Pinotage is a fruit-packed Pinotage with deep red and black berry fruits and a hint of toasty oak. Fine bright tannins with a long fresh finish.
Pinotage is the best wine in the world to pair with Mexican dishes such as Fajitas or that glorious confection of chicken, chocolate, cumin seeds, smoky ancho chilies, pumpkin and sesame seeds- Mole. It is also very good with other flavoursome American regional specialties such as with Carolina Pulled Pork or smoky Texas B.B.Q beef rib. The wine also works with Moroccan flavours, Malaysian dishes and of course the local Cape cuisine.
Jeremy and Emma Borg founded Painted Wolf Wines to create unique wines from a small number of growers in some of South Africa's prime sites, including Paarl, Swartland and Stellenbosch - low-yielding areas which are mostly unirrigated and farmed organically.
They called their company Painted Wolf, after the endangered African Wild Dog. The Painted Wolf 'pack' is their community of talented individuals who bring the best available grapes, technical and practical skills, resulting a range of delicious, authentic and satisfying wines.
Five percent of Painted Wolf's profits from UK sales are donated to Tusk Trust, which not only funds projects to protect wildlife, particularly endangered species, but also helps to alleviate poverty through sustainable development and education amongst rural communities which live alongside wildlife.
