A fruity Cabernet Franc from where it excels in the Loire Valley. Marcel Martin Chinon Les Bernieres has aromas of violets and spice with crushed berry fruit. Smooth and rounded.

Chinon is the appellation covering wines produced around the historic town of Chinon, in the central Loire Valley. This area has been producing wine for many centuries, and although wines of all three colors are made there, the focus is now very clearly on reds. The typical, quintessential Chinon wine is tannic, leafy, berry-scented Cabernet Franc.

The 74 acres (30 hectares) of vineyards that produce Marcel Martin are located in the Anjou and Touraine regions of the Loire. The vineyards are planted with approximately 60% Chenin Blanc, 20% Chardonnay, and 20% Cabernet Franc on a mixture of clay, limestone, and sand with an average vine age of 20 years old.
