LATEST NEWS

Welcome,

We have a forthcoming event at Talking Wines. We are delighted that Robin Naylor will be joining us on 27th September to talk us through a tasting of the Wildeberg wine range. Robin has played a key role in establishing this excellent producer in Franschhoek, South Africa. They have a wonderful range of wines and a fascinating story of how the property and vineyards have developed. You can read a little about the Wildeberg wines below or come and hear Robin in person. Tickets are just £10 and can be purchased in the shop or online at https://talkingwines.co.uk/products/ticket-for-wildeberg-tasting

We also have our seasonal tasting coming up on Saturday 16th November at Cirencester Baptist Church as a date for your diary.

You can keep up with our latest wines and events by following us on Instagram @talkingwinesciren and Facebook. You can find all our range of wines at https://talkingwines.co.uk/

We hope to see you soon.

Best wishes

Wonderful Wildeberg

Wildeberg Wines have become a key partner for Talking Wines over recent years. We have followed the project from the purchase of the property through the clearing of the site, planting of vineyards and working in partnership with local growers to produce some outstanding wines.

The Wildeberg farm is located on the edge of the town of Franschhoek, an hour's drive north of Cape Town where French Huguenots settled in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The farm includes a rugged mountain with rare fynbos species, many snakes and other roaming wild animals.

As well as the vineyard on the farm, equally important is the relationship with local grape growers which winemaker JD Rossouw has developed. His family has a long history of winemaking and JD has managed to secure some fantastic fruit from special sites around the Western Cape. The quality of the grapes along with the skill of the winemaking team has produced some outstanding wines.

Like many of the best winemakers, JD's skill is to do as little as possible to the wine to allow the natural character of the wine to develop. This gentle, expressive style of wine has been a real hit with our customers and we have expanded our portfolio of their wines including the Wild House, Coterie and Wildeberg ranges.

The company is part-owned by a UK company and Robin Naylor has overseen the project from its inception, developing the philosophy along with JD. Robin is a long time friend of Talking Wines and we are delighted he is able to join us to share his experience of Wildeberg on Friday 27th September. We have a few tickets remaining if you would like to join us.
