This strange year continues with a mix of challenges and opportunities. Many of our restaurants and pub are now trading and some are doing a good trade whereas others are finding life more difficult. Some have found it uneconomic to open and others have closed for good. It is great to have customers back in the shop, although the mask wearing dilutes the experience somewhat.
We continue to offer free local delivery and deliveries nationwide for just £9.95. Our drivers continue to respect the two metre distancing advice from government. Alternatively you can order online for collection at a safe distance from the shop. If you have not yet visited our new website you can explore our range by following the link here https://talkingwines.co.uk/
We wish you all well as we continue to trade in this uncertain environment.

Loire Valley Shines
As we enjoy wines from all around the world, it is sometimes easy to ignore the wines from closer to home. The wines from The Loire Valley in northern France have long been favourites of Britsih wine drinkers, from Muscadet in the west to Sancerre and Pouilly Fume in the east.
The Loire Valley starts in central northern France and meanders its way 280 km to the Atlantic coast. Along the way it passes through some of France's most famous white wine regions. In the central Loire Sauvignon Blanc is king. Sancerre lies on the west bank with Pouilly Fumé opposite on the east bank. In this region we work with Phillipe Raimbault whose wines have great finesse.
Just to the north is the less well known region of Coteaux de Giennois where the whites are also made from Sauvignon Blanc. Here Domaine de Villargeau produce some excellent wines with lower prices than their more famous neighbours.
The mid Loire passes through Touraine, Vouvray and the red wine region of Chinon. Chenin Blanc as well as Sauvignon blanc feature in the whites with Vouvray the most notable. Just before the Loire reaches the Atlantic Ocean, lies the region of Muscadet
The Muscadet region has one grape variety, Melon de Bourgogne, which is only found in Muscadet. The excellent Domaine de Noe has a lovely texture and of course is the perfect partner to the fantastic seafood of the area.
To celebrate the wines of the Loire we are offering a saving of £18 on a case of 6 bottles of Domaine Phillipe Raimbault Pouilly Fume Mosaique. To take advantage of this offer follow the link here
