Domaine Chene Macon Villages is a fresh Chardonnay with citrus and pear notes. Well rounded with a long finish.
Fifth generation winemaker Cedric Chêne is now at the winemaking helm at this top class 60acre family estate situated in southern Burgundy just north of Mâcon. Outstanding wines made in miniscule quantities.
Cedric Chêne is the 5th generation to make wine on his family’s estate in the village of Berzé la Ville. Since taking charge in 1973, he has focused on improving the farming practices of the domaine, with constant ploughing of the vines and decreased yields during harvest. He maintains a very hands off approach in the cellar, using only indigenous yeasts for fermentation and stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness. Cedric makes wine the way that harkens back to the classics, using very traditional methods. The results are stunning wines that are laser-pure expressions of high altitude Chardonnay.
