Crozes-Hermitage Rouge Domaine Les Hauts de Mercurol

The village of Mercurol sits on the clay-limestone terraces of the northern Rhône at 260m. Produced from the Syrah grape, Crozes-Hermitage Rouge Domaine Les Hauts de Mercurol is typical of the region with brambly fruit, a hint of black pepper spice and earthy notes.

Located behind the tower overlooking the village of Mercurol, at an altitude of 260 metres, the vineyard of Domaine Les Hauts de Mercurol stretches over 7ha in Crozes Hermitage red as well as a small plot of white on the famous hillside Pends.

Some vines were planted 48 years ago. New plantations were carried out in 1985 and 1990. The grape varieties are Syrah for the reds and Marsanne for the whites. The grapes are harvested by hand and cooled as soon as received in the vat and before pneumatic pressing. The vinification and aging cellar was completely renovated in 2004.
