Bremerton Selkirk Shiraz is a beautifully balanced Aussie Shiraz made by Rebecca Wilson. Menthol hints with savoury spice, dark brooding black berry and plum fruit. Ripe supple tannins and good length.
The name “Selkirk” is in recognition of Rebecca Wilson’s Grandfather’s heritage. This Scottish border town was the ancestral home of the Willson family.
The 2013 Selkirk Shiraz offers distinctive varietal characters of lifted white pepper aroma, dark berry fruit, plum and savoury spice. It displays a well – balanced palate structure, soft supple tannins and well integrated oak.
After fermenting in small open top fermenters the wine spent up to 18 months in selected new and older fine grain American oak. Parcels were chosen to give the final wine the best balance between varietal fruit character and oak complexity and structure.
